　 Jimmy Rowles (1918-1996)は年代的にはHank JonesやGeorge Shearingと同じで、Powellの影響をモロに被ることが無かったぶん地味に感じますが、そこが伴奏者としての評価を上げているのだろうと思います。娘のStacy (1955-2009)はフリューゲルホーンを専ら演奏します。残念ながら交通事故でこの世を去りました。Harry Edison (1915-1996)は1930年代からCount Basie楽団で活躍し日本へも何度も来ています。Ray Rrown (1926-2002)はOscar Peterson Trioのbassistの印象が強いのですが、後年まで幅広く活躍しました。Don Bailey (1933-2013) もベテランで、Jimmy SmithやHampton Hawsとも多くの録音を残しています。1曲だけ遠隔で加わったClementine (1963- ) が歌うのはフランスのピアニストアンリ・ルノーのTes Yeux Bemol。
　ほとんどの曲は古いスタンダードですが、中には、ジミーランスフォード楽団が1937年に録音したHoney Keep Your Mind On Meなんて曲も混ざっています。Terry ShandのMy Extraordinary Gal は、様々なMusicianの多くの録音が残されていますが、Jazzではほとんど演奏されません。Happy Feetも1930年代のhit曲で、Jazz向きのような気がしますが、ほとんど演奏されず、スタンダードとなれなかった曲です。Restlessも初期のGoodman楽団が録音したきりですが、なかなかの名曲と思います。
　Jimmy Rowlesは15を除くすべての曲で歌っています。多分自由に選曲したであろうこの作品に、Goodman楽団出身を窺わせるレパートリーも多いのは三つ子の魂なのでしょうか。
