こんばんはJazzy Isshiです。今夜はDizzy Gillespie（1917-1993）のBe-Bop Big Bandです。ちょっとマンネリに陥りかけていた頃の演奏ですが1948年の録音のわりには音質も良く楽しめます。

SoloistはDizzyの外はEarnie Henry(as,1926-1957)、James Moody（ts,1925-2010）, Cecil Payne(bs,1922-2007), James Forman(p), Nelson Boyd (b,1928-1985), Chano Pozza(1915-48)と有名奏者が揃っています。Henryは1957年に交通事故死、Pozzoは1948年12月に撲殺されています。

曲は7を除いてBe-Bop時代に作られた曲です。DameronのGood Bait, MonkのRound Midnightは有名スタンダード、GillespieのEmanon (no nameの逆さ綴り）、Mantecaあたりは準スタンダードということができるでしょう。I Can't Get...はSwing時代からの有名曲ですが、DizzyはここではBe-Bopではない神妙な演奏（ラストを除いて）を行っています。
