Ben Webster (ts), Oscar Peterson (p), Ray Brown (b), Ed Thigpen (ds)

Ben Wesbster (1909-1973) は晩年はヨーロッパで活躍しましたが、その前はVerveの専属でもっぱらJATPやBalladのLPを多くつくりました。これは、その中でもPeterson trioとのいわゆるOne Horne というシンプルな構成です。Ｗebsterは1930年代のHenderson楽団、40年代のEllington楽団、その間短期間Wliilie Bryant楽団、Teddy Wilson楽団に在籍しました。その間に同僚の良い影響を受け、1950年年代には稀代のスタイリストに成長したと思います。1959年は50歳とまさに全盛期だったのではないでしょうか。曲は全てスタンダードです。
