1930年代前半のDuke Ellingtonは、Cootie, Brown, Tizol, Hodges, Bigard, Carney等超一流のフロントラインに加え、Braud, Greer, GuyといったがっちりしたRhythm Sectionを備え、ある意味黄金時代と言って良いと思います。このLPは RCA Vintage Seriesの日本版で1965年に出たものです。

演奏も音質も素晴らしく、おまけにVictorの盤質も素晴らしく、録音から80年、プレスから55年を経ても良い音で再生できます。
