1958年頃テレビが一般化していたアメリカでは番組のテーマソングは一種のヒット曲のようになっていました。（日本でもその傾向があります。）そのヒット曲を趣味の良いWest Coast Jazzにしたのが本作です。oboeが大活躍し普通のJazzとはちょっと違う音色が楽しめます。
