Red Norvo (1908-1999) が1940年代に率いたBig Bandの演奏です。アナウンサーの声も入っている放送録音です。4や14などのSwing NumberではNorvoやメンバーのsoloがふんだんに聞けます。が、途中でFade Outする残念な録音もあります。主なsoloistはtbがEddie Bert(1922-2012)、tpがJack King, tsがJohnny Madzett, clがSam Dettoreです。アンサンブルにはfl, Oboe, english hornが加えられており、bsの音も良く捉えられています。編曲のクレジットはありませんが、もしかしたらEddie Sauterかも知れません。(単純な編曲が多いのでおそらく違うでしょう。）1曲だけですがHelen Ward（1913-1998）が聞けるのは拾いものです。
